Mrs. Jennifer Decker - Principal

Welcome to Valmead Elementary! My name is Jennifer Decker, and I am honored and excited to serve as principal of Valmead Elementary School.

This is my 16th year in education and my 15th year with Caldwell County Schools. Before becoming principal, I was a North Carolina Principal Fellow through Appalachian State University and served as an Assistant Principal at Dudley Shoals Elementary and Sawmills Elementary. My teaching experience includes Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and ESL at both the elementary and middle school levels.

As a Caldwell County native and graduate of West Caldwell High School, I am especially grateful for the opportunity to serve students, families, and staff in the community that has always been my home. I am excited to be at Valmead and look forward to working together to make this a wonderful year for our Lynx!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bradley, and our son, Briggs. Family is incredibly important to me, and I look forward to building relationships and getting to know your family.
